If there isn't a major issue, it should be filtered out for regular users a few weeks later. This feature is available for Insider Beta Channel users running version 2012 (Build 13518.10000). If you never want to see a dark canvas, go to File> Options> General> Customize your copy of Microsoft Office and select it Turn off darkness checkbox to always keep the white page color in the Office Black theme. To confirm the default view (white canvas), use the Change Mode button to toggle the page color to white. The dark canvas doesn't indicate how your document will print, nor the default view your collaborators will see when they open it. Reds, blues, yellows and other colors will be shifted slightly to tone down the overall effect of the color scheme and look more visually pleasing with the new dark background. The colors in your document will also be shifted to accommodate the new color contrast. With dark mode, you will notice that the previously white page color is now a dark gray / black. To toggle between the page background color in black and white, click View> Change mode. In the General tab, look for Office theme under Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office. To turn on dark mode in the Word canvas, click File> Account> Office Theme> Black. To go to options: Open Word from the Start Click on File to open the sidebar.
